You can find a lot of information online, but not all of it is suited to the independent ladies who really want to make a speech at their own weddings. A lot of the information is good for a blushing bride who wants to quote a little poetry and that’s all.
How do you find good, acceptable jokes for a bride speech and how can you make it unique and still make it memorable? Getting your bride speech just right is going to require a little effort on your part, but the investment is worth it.
You’ll want to do a bit of planning. There is no hard and fast rules when it comes to giving a bride speech, but you will want to ensure that your speech includes a few key things such as
- Thanking the right people and
- Expressing your love for your husband
Although you don’t want your husband to hear your speech, you will want to make sure that you don’t both say similar things. Knowing who is going to thank whom will prevent that.
Your husband may not remember to thank the caterers and help, so this is a great one for the bride and you should decide between you who is going to thank those who couldn’t make it to the event. Also remember to thank the grooms parents. If you have known them for a long time, you can thank them for their role in your life, but if you are not so familiar with them, you should thank them for raising the main you love.
Once you have your speech ready, practise it until it feels natural. This will help with your confidence on the day. You have so many things to think about on your wedding day, don’t let your speech be one of them.
