Bride speeches are not so traditional.  A standard wedding would include speeches from the father of the bride and the best man and groom.  Usually the territory of men, the ladies are stepping up to the plate and giving great speeches of their own.

So what should you include in your wedding speech to make it memorable?

  1. You will want to thank your guests for accepting your invitations.  Telling them how much you appreciate them coming to this very special event.
  2. You will want to also thank your parents and your husbands parents.
  3. This is a good time to include a story about yourself and your new husband – perhaps how you met.
  4. And then you want to include thanking the staff and caterers and all those people who made a contribution to the wedding.

All this may not sound to exciting, but this is just the basics.  Now you can add your own personal touches in jokes, one liners, quotes and lyrics.  Practise your complete speech as often as you need to so that it feels comfortable and change it as you feel it needs to be changed.  Keep it at around five minutes for the best delivery.
